Parents and older siblings ALL worked hard!

Parents and older siblings ALL worked hard!

Parents and siblings rounded out the TEAM work crew!  Kids again were primarily working the “marketing” in the  JACK IN THE BOX (59th Ave/101) drive thru and on the street while the parents primarily do the actual car wash.  We don’t know if that’s for “quality control” or if the kids are just too smart!!  Luckily, as the kids grow older, they are doing more of the work.  We raised over $800 with many generous donations from our friends and families.  THANKS for your support!!

Cardinals Spring '11

Cardinals Spring '11

Max in the middle of the picture just like he continues to be the “heart” of our team.  I want to take the opportunity to THANK all the teams that allowed Max to make his stylish scampers holding the ball high and diving into the end zone like only he could.  Your graciousness is greatly appreciated!

I was extremely proud of the boys this year as we had a target on our backs ALL year yet were able to continue to persevere!  This was no different on the day of the tournament.  We were able to defeat a VERY athletic Cougers team, 21 -0 for the Championship.  ALL the boys did a SUPER job fighting through the small mistakes to make the required BIG plays.  Specifically, DEFENSE carried our season shutting out ALL our opponents in the Tournament.  Though our success was truly a TEAM effort, and many of the boys were easily worthy of these awards, here are the recipients:

MVP:  Jonathon Lam

Most Improved:  Lucas McMains

Most Spirit:  Max Marangella

After our victory we ALL celebrated at Lasar Quest with a couple games,  pizza, and cake.  A couple of the boys, including Max, had not played before, so it was extra special.  Fun was had by all!

Tyler joins DUCK football team

Tyler, 7 yr old, joins Coach Greg’s CCV Stars DUCK football team.  Though the team had a tough season, the kids had a GREAT time!  The season was capped with a BIG pizza party at the beautiful grass area that the Foundation was honored to sponsor.  Tyler and his teammates were obviously ready for next season as they were still running around playing football!  Tyler was doing so well, many of his teammates didn’t even know he is afflicted with Cystic Fibrosis.  Tyler keep up the great work and progress!

Sa’Preeme starts playing with THUNDER basketball team

Filed under: Sports — Kids Playing for Kids @ 3:36 pm

Sa’Preeme joined Coach Marianne’s CCV Stars Thunder basketball team in early March.  He quickly made his impact and was doing GREAT!  Unfortunately near the end of the season he had a bit of complication with his breathing and was not able to finish out the season.  We look forward to him rejoining the Thunder for the next season.

Brooklyn, 2.5 yr old , starts figure skating at Polar Ice with the excellent guidance of Coach Robin Neumann in March.  Her sister, Aaliyah, 6.5 yr old, gets to join in on the fun.  The Foundation is happy to keep funding these great outings which are helping with Brooklyn’s balance.  We’re VERY happy to see her having fun while progressing physically under the great guidance of Coach Robin.
